The 36th Brazil-Germany Economic Meeting was held in Cologne from June 24 to 26. The EEBA 2018 attracted more than 500 representatives of the economic and political milieu, as well as businessmen from both countries to debate the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation. The conference, organized by the Confederation of German Industry, BDI, and its Brazilian partner entity, National Confederation of Industry, CNI, had the support of the city of Cologne and the Cologne Fair. In the scope of the meeting, the 45th Joint Commission for Bilateral Economic Cooperation (COMISTA) was also held.

Opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agribusiness, digitalization, health economics, sustainable urban planning, energy and infrastructure were discussed in depth in various forums.

The 45th COMISTA focused on expanding cooperation in the areas of infrastructure and digitalization. The two governments also showed interest in initiating a bilateral digital dialogue at the political level and in reactivating exchanges on the subject of the agreement to avoid double taxation.
