Ministers of Brazil and Germany signed a document reaffirming the German-Brazilian Energy Partnership

In the evening of March 13, the Brazilian Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, and the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck, signed, in Brasília, a communiqué in favor of the continuation of the German-Brazilian Energy Partnership, evidencing the successful cooperation to promote the energy transition and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Further, the Brazilian Minister launched a proposal to attract German investments to Brazil, aiming at the installation of new industrial plants for the production of low carbon hydrogen.

Minister Habeck's visit to Brazil took place on the occasion of the 39th German-Brazilian Economic Meeting (EEBA), in Belo Horizonte, on March 13 and 14. Also during EEBA, the Joint Commission took place on March 12, where representatives of the public sector and business leaders from Brazil and Germany discussed the common economic agenda, highlighting new approaches on energy, climate and digitalization. Besides the National Hydrogen Programme (PNH2), the results of the German-Brazilian Energy Partnership were also part of the discussions.
